Pumpkin Smoothie with Oatmeal

This pumpkin smoothie with oatmeal recipe can be made with baked pumpkin, ready-made pumpkin puree, or raw pumpkin crushed in a blender. The last option is the most useful and fastest – so we will take it as the basis of the future smoothie.
Oatmeal for smoothies (however, as well as for porridge) should be taken ordinary, and not those that are quickly cooked. There are no vitamins in quick cereals, and there will be no benefit from such food.

Ingredients:
– oatmeal – 2 tbsp. l;
– peeled pumpkin – 150 gr;
– banana – 1 pc;
– apple – 1 pc;
– water – 3 tbsp. l;
– low-fat kefir – 1 glass;
– ground cinnamon – 2-3 pinches;
– chopped nuts – for serving smoothies.

Cooking

Pour boiling water over oatmeal. Cover, leave to steam for 5 minutes while we clean and cut the pumpkin and fruit.
We cut off the rough crust from the pumpkin, clean the middle from the fibrous pulp and seeds. Cut into small cubes or grate.
Cut bananas into slices. By the way, if you often make smoothies or mousses, chop a few bananas and freeze them in small portions. When frozen, bananas retain all the nutrients, do not change the taste, and at the right time they will always be at your fingertips. In addition, frozen bananas give smoothies a thicker consistency and silky texture.
It is not necessary to peel the apple, but if there are spoiled places or damage, then it is better to cut off the skin. With imported fruits, the skin must be cut off, it does more harm than good.
Put the pumpkin pieces in a blender, grind into a thick puree. Pumpkin puree will turn out very fragrant, bright and will look like gruel.
Pour the pieces of apples and banana into a blender with pureed pumpkin. Whip all the ingredients with a blender.
Add oatmeal. By this time, they will absorb all the liquid, swell and become softer. Grind the flakes with a blender.
After all the grinding, we will get a thick, almost homogeneous orange fruit gruel. It is better to dilute a thick smoothie with low-fat kefir or natural yogurt. After adding kefir, the smoothie is thoroughly beaten until bubbles appear on the surface. There is no need to add sugar or honey, there is enough sweetness in pumpkin, banana and apple.
