Potatoes baked in foil

Tired of fried potatoes? I offer you potatoes in foil, baked in the oven. Also, this potato recipe is suitable if you want to bake potatoes on charcoal.

Ingredients:

Potatoes 6 pcs
Onion 1 pc
Smoked salo 50 gr
Food foil 1 pc

Choose the same size potatoes. We also need smoked lard (you can use plain or bacon), onions, foil and spices.

Peel potatoes and cut in half. Cut each half with a mesh. We do this so that the potatoes are well saturated with fat and spices.

Cut the halves and put them next to each other. Pepper, salt, a little red ground paprika, a circle of onion and a leaf of bacon to each half.

Fold the halves like this (see photo) and wrap in foil. Put the prepared potatoes in a convenient flat dish on one side. The oven should already be preheated to 180-200 gr.

We mark the time. I have a large potato and after 20 minutes I opened it and tried one thing – it was not ready. Flip the potatoes over and bake for another 30 minutes. Out in about an hour. But on the coals (those that remain after the burnt firewood), the potatoes are stacked on top and do not fall asleep. Bake 10 min. on one side and 10 minutes on the other. You can fill it with coals and bake for 20-25 minutes. But it’s always best to unwrap the potatoes and test for readiness. I liked it better in the oven. I don’t like burnt potatoes (on charcoal they are usually black in places).
