Lateral raises of the torso on a Roman chair

Lateral torso lifts on a Roman chair
Roman buckshee side raises
Starting position – lying sideways on the bench. The feet are fixed under the rollers. The body “hangs” in the air. Hands behind the head or crossed on the chest:
– inhale and lift the torso up, bending at the side, return to the starting position;
– At the end of the movement, exhale.
The main load falls on the oblique and rectus abdominis muscles on the side in which the flexion is carried out. The oblique and rectus abdominis muscles on the opposite side are also involved in static tension, which does not allow the trunk to fall below the horizontal level.
Note: throughout the exercise, the square muscle of the lower back is also involved in the work.
Application of the exercise – lateral torso lifts on a Roman chair
To: Athletes of intermediate level and above.
When: At the beginning or end of a workout. Before the side raises of the body on the Roman chair, do the folding of the torso with the upper block.
How much: 3 sets of 15-25 reps alternately on each side.
