Fennel Shrimp Chowder Soup

It’s just a soup that originated in coastal New England. The classic recipe calls for fresh edible shells and saltine crackers as ingredients. Manhattan chowder does not contain milk, but it does contain tomatoes.
INGREDIENTS:
milk 600 ml
potatoes 450 g
tiger shrimps 250 g
corn seeds 150 g
butter 60 g
smoked bacon 5 slices
carrots 2 pcs.
fennel 1 pc.
onion 1 head
flour 1 tbsp
saffron 1 pinch
bay leaf
ground black pepper
salt
COOKING:
1 Melt the butter in a saucepan over low heat, fry the thin slices of onion until soft. Add strips of thinly sliced ​​lean bacon; fry together for 3 minutes. Add cubes of peeled potatoes with a side of 1 – 2 cm, slices of fennel and carrots, bay leaf. Mix. Sprinkle with flour and mix again.

ADVICE
In the recipe, butter can be replaced with vegetable oil, and milk with cream with a fat content of 10 percent. You can add celery, carrots.
