Knitting with down needles

Knitting clothes from fluff consists of 2 main stages:

The first stage is the preparation of the fluff itself. At this time, the whole process of processing fluff has changed relatively, but, as before, this process remains very laborious, it can be divided into stages:

1. we sort out the fluff from litter and hard guard hairs.

2. We pluck the fluff before washing.

3. Thoroughly wash the fluff in warm water with shampoo, rinse in 3 waters and dry.

4. Again we pluck the dry fluff and comb it manually on the comb. Mix (this is necessary to obtain a uniform color of fluff). brush twice more.

5. The fluff is now ready, and you can start spinning a thin thread for a cobweb, tippet, and for a scarf we spin a thicker thread. On a scarf, on average, it takes four hundred grams of pure fluff.

6. After that, it is necessary to wind, build with a skein of a color-matched cotton thread.

7. roll up and roll into balls.

8. After that it is time to start knitting.

Knitting a scarf is a painstaking task, it requires special attention and patience. There are several ways to knit a scarf, for a better understanding, we will knit a regular scarf with a patterned border and a solid middle, while the borders and middle are knitted separately. For work, we need four hundred grams of yarn and knitting needles number two.

We will proceed from the fact that you already know how to knit and cast on facial loops. The main feature of this knitting of Orenburg shawls is that in the purl and front rows, all the loops are knitted with the front ones. To do this, after knitting each row, we change the work in our hands; the work is on the right knitting needle, we take the work in the left hand, and the clean knitting needle in the right, as if we knit alternately on both sides.

The middle is the beginning of knitting. To begin with, we will dial the required number of loops (this includes two edge loops). Loops need to be typed in one thread on two knitting needles. For a scarf one hundred and twenty by one hundred and twenty, usually two hundred and twenty loops are cast. In all subsequent rows, at the beginning of the row, remove the hem without knitting it, the knitting needle must be inserted into the loop from right to left, on the index finger – the working thread (at work). At the end of the row, purl the edge stitch. In order to get a square middle, the number of rows must be more than the loops for thirty rows. you need to tie four borders after the middle is ready.

Knitting borders. the border is knitted as and the middle, only with facial loops. For simplicity, the diagram shows only the front, not even rows. Dial seven loops (two edge loops are included in this account) and we knit a row of purl. In all the following rows, we remove the edge at the beginning of the row, without knitting it, insert the knitting needle into the loop from right to left, on the index finger – the working thread (at work). At the end of the row, purl the edge loop.

Now we will describe a couple of examples of knitting from fluff on knitting needles:

Knitted from the soles of booties,

Size: thirteen-fourteen.

Threads: Tenderness (one hundred grams three hundred meters), fifty percent wool, fifty percent goat down.

Needles: number 2.

Cast on fifteen stitches. Knit in stocking stitch for ten rows, in the tenth row we decrease at the beginning by one loop and at the end of the row. Knit twenty-four rows. This we will get the sole. We leave these thirteen loops on one knitting needle. On the remaining three sides of the rectangle, we collect twenty-four loops from one side for three more knitting needles, fifteen loops for the toe, twenty-four loops for the other side of the booties. We continue to knit on five knitting needles: one row of purl loops, the second front loop, alternating blue and white threads in every third row.

We knit the booties to the height we need (fifteen rows), we continue to knit only fifteen sock loops – this will become the top of the front of the booties. We knit with front stitch on two knitting needles, knit the last and first loop of the row together with the loop in the next knitting needle. We knit until there are fourteen loops on the side knitting needles, i.e. there are three knitting needles with fourteen loops each and one knitting needle with fifteen loops. On five knitting needles, we will continue to knit the cuffs of the booties.

To form holes for the lace, first we knit two rows with crochets: the first row – two loops together with facial ones, then a crochet. The second row is an elastic band (one front, one purl). We knit an elastic band nine centimeters. We close the loops in the Italian way. We insert the laces or elastic band into the resulting holes.

booties “lilac”

Size: sixty-two-sixty-eight.

Materials: yarn: seventy-five percent sheep’s wool. Twenty-five percent polyamide, one hundred and twenty-five m / 50 g, fifty grams of purple melange yarn. five spokes number four; hook number four; two buttons.

With knitting needles number four, the main pattern is knitted: garter stitch = front and back rows – front loops; with circular knitting – alternately one row of front and one row of purl loops.

We knit the elastic with knitting needles number four: knit alternately one facial, one purl.

Bootee left: start with the sole. Dial thirty-two loops, distribute the loops on four knitting needles and begin to knit with a garter stitch. The transition from one row to another is located on the back line of the middle. In the third row, after the first loop of the first and third knitting needles and before the last loop of the second and fourth knitting needles from the broach, add one front crossed loop. Repeat these increases three more times in every second row, while adding for the first and third knitting needles after and for the second and fourth knitting needles before the last added loop, we get forty-eight loops.

We knit a six-centimeter elastic band.

After that, we continue to work with a garter stitch. In this case, in the first row on the loops of the second and third knitting needles, two loops each. Knit together with the front we get thirty-six loops. In addition, in the third row we decrease the loops as follows: for the second knitting needle, remove the last third loop, as well as the front one, knit one loop with the front one and stretch the removed loop through it. Repeat these decreases a couple more times in every second row and get thirty loops.

Then knit the first eight loops with the first knitting needle, close the next fourteen loops and knit the last eight loops from the fourth to the first knitting needles.

Knit the right bootie must be symmetrical.
