Tropicamide (eye drops)

Recently, patients dependent on tropicamide, or taking it in combination with other potent drugs, have begun to enroll in narcological clinics en masse. Tropikamid, has come to the attention of drug addicts for a long time. This drug is inherently designed to dilate the pupils of the eyes, for the purpose of ophthalmic diagnosis. In the past, drug addicts used it to hide visible signs of use by instilling it into their eyes. Now, injecting drug users have begun to inject tropicamide intravenously to enhance the effect of the drug they use (heroin, methadone, methamphetamine and other psychoactive substances). The use of tropicamide in its pure form also began to occur frequently. The drug is freely available, which, together with a relatively low cost, has led to a massive demand for this pharmaceutical product. Crowds of drug addicts literally line up for tropicamide. I want to note that in terms of its chemical composition and side effects, the drug should be included in the list of prescription drugs, but for some reason most pharmacies turn a blind eye to this.

Today, a huge number of drug addicts inject tropicomide without realizing what damage to health the pursuit of a short-term effect brings, which can hardly even be called euphoric or even just pleasant. When tropicamide enters the blood, irreversible processes begin in the body associated with the death and decomposition of tissues of internal organs. With the systematic use of high doses, side effects appear: agitation, psychotic reactions (in all patients, these symptoms accompany a strong mental craving for the drug), headache (it is observed and epileptic seizures occur at its height), tachycardia (the heart and valvular apparatus wear out very much, possibly, this is also associated with continuous injections with the same syringe and staphylococcal fusion of the heart valves), arterial hypotension, hyperthermia (disturbances of the central genesis), dry mouth, dysuria (in the later stages of taking tropicamide leads to urinary incontinence). The drug is also highly addictive, and a tropicamide addict has very little time, because after two or three months of such dependence, a person becomes disabled. A person who uses tropicamide intravenously needs urgent professional help (treatment of drug addiction), followed by a course of rehabilitation (rehabilitation of drug addicts). At the moment, Tropicamide can be safely called one of the most dangerous drugs. If a person is caught in the net of such drug addiction, he is on the brink of an abyss and his life is under serious threat.
