About the drug:
Proviron is a hormonal drug with weak androgenic activity. Proviron is used in bodybuilding during the course of anabolic steroids for various purposes.

Among the well-known manufacturers of Proviron are various branches of the Schering company (tablets of 25 mg), the Moldovan company Balkan Pharmaceuticals (tablets of 50 mg) and some others.

Available in the form of tablets, mainly 25 mg. It is an aromatase inhibitor, that is, it prevents the conversion of steroids into estrogens in the body. Proviron prevents gynecomastia, water retention, female-type fat deposition and other estrogen side effects.

It does not affect the production of the body’s own testosterone (in large doses it can suppress), however, it helps to increase the concentration of free testosterone in the blood, due to the fact that it blocks the activity of sex hormone-binding globulin. These properties make Proviron an attractive remedy during the cycle.

Often used as part of post-cycle therapy, although the feasibility is questionable, since it lacks the ability to restore the secretion of endogenous testosterone.[5]
Mesterolone is an orally active, 1-methylated DHT (methylated dihydrotestosterone). However, like Masteron, but exclusively oral. Dihydrotestosterone is a conversion product of testosterone with a 5-alpha-reducing enzyme. The result being a hormone is 3 to 4 times more androgenic and structurally incapable of forming estrogen. One might imagine then that Mesterolone would be the perfect remedy for increasing strength and achieving certain gains. Unfortunately, there is a control mechanism for dihydrotestosterone in the human body. When levels get too high, 3-alpha hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase converts it to a mostly inactive compound known as 3-alpha (5-alpha-androstane-3-alpha, 17beta-diol), a prohormone, so to speak. It can equally be converted back to dihydrotestosterone by the same enzyme when low levels of dihydrotestosterone are detected. But this means that it is quite useless to apply large quantities drug (to heighten the sensitivity of androgen receptors in muscle tissue) to achieve muscle hypertrophy.

Proviron has four different uses in the bodybuilding world. The first kind of use is the result of its structure. The reduced formula of mesterolone (5-alpha) is not capable of converting to estrogen. It does, however, have a higher affinity for the aromatase enzyme (which converts testosterone to estrogen) than testosterone. This means that when taken with testosterone or another aromatase compound, estrogens are prevented from spreading because they are tightly bound to the aromatase enzyme, preventing these steroids from converting to estrogen. Thus, the use of Mesterolone brings great benefits – reducing the estrogenic side effects and water retention seen with other steroids; Plus, it takes a little effort. It can also be hypothesized that this drug may actually desensitize estrogen receptors, doubling its effectiveness in attenuating circulating estrogen levels.

The second application is based on the expansion of the potential of testosterone. Testosterone in a healthy person is mostly inactive. 97-98% of testosterone is bound to the sex hormone binding globulin (SHBG) and albumin, two proteins. In this form, testosterone is mostly inactive. But as with the aromatase enzyme, dihydrotestosterone has a higher affinity for these proteins than does testosterone. Therefore, when Mesterolone is attached to globulin and albumin, a large amount of free testosterone remains to achieve anabolic processes such as protein synthesis. And it helps to increase achievements. There is also another part of the equation that is ineffective on its own – the entanglement of these proteins is not converted at the androgen receptor.

Thirdly, Mesterolone is added in pre-competition cycles to increase excellent muscle stiffness and volume. Probably due to decreased circulating estrogen levels; possibly due to the low level of regulation of the estrogen receptor in muscle tissue, the body’s water balance is reduced, giving the user the visual effect of dry, quality, stiff muscles. Proviron often used not only among bodybuilders, but even actors and models use it again and again to get the right fitness on the last day before filming. Similar to the other methylated compound of dihydrotestosterone, Drostanolone, Mesterolone is especially powerful in achieving this effect.

Finally, Proviron is used during the cycle of hormones such as Nandrolone with a low androgenic effect. Perhaps the abbreviated formula 5-alpha in this case is different from dihydrotestosterone. Compounds such as Trenbolone and Nandrolone are known to reduce libido. The logical result is the limitation of the athlete’s sexuality. DHT plays a key role in this process and is therefore used in conjunction with such steroids to attenuate or lessen this annoying side effect. Proviron is also commonly prescribed by doctors for people with low testosterone levels, or patients with chronic impotence. It is not perceived as a powerful anabolic. It will do the job just as well if not better than other anabolic steroids. Proviron has a lower chance of being abused, making it a favorite in medical practice.

Mesterolone is preferred by many athletes, as it has virtually no side effects in men. In high doses, it can cause some virilization symptoms in women. But due to the high levels of deactivation and distribution in the system (albumins, SHBG, 3bHSD (3b hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase), aromatase) quite a lot of it, if not all, just never reaches the androgen receptor where the anabolic effects as well as side effects. Therefore, its safety is relative. Doses from 25 to 250 mg per day have been used without adverse effects. 50mg per day is usually sufficient to be effective in each of the four uses we mentioned above. Thus, there is no need to increase the dose. And then it’s up to you.

Proviron is not advised to be used with other steroids as this will suppress natural testosterone leading to all sorts of future complications. From loss of libido or erectile dysfunction to infertility. One should be aware of such dangers, because Proviron performs most of the functions normal testosterone levels.

Mesterolone is an oral alkylated steroid. When used initially as an anti-aromatase drug in a cycle of 10-12 weeks in parallel with injectable drugs, then its effect on the liver is much less than with a 17-alpha-alkaline steroid. Mesterolone is less toxic, not fully alkylated, and therefore ranked first in comparison to 17-alpha alkylation and liver action. Since dihydrotestosterone levels are much higher, there is more stimulation at the androgen receptors, which causes large increases in strength and, due to its proximity to aromatase, significant decreases in estrogen levels. As a result, less effort is applied, and testosterone production is increased.

Mesterolone is of course used in conjunction with other drugs such as methandrostenolone, boldenone and nandrolone to reduce estrogenic activity and increase muscle stiffness. The addition of Proviron renders boldenone ineffective during a relief cycle, in some cases even Nandrolone for relief can be used, although the use of Winstrol or a receptor antagonist is also desirable. The benefit of adding Winstrol to a Nandrolone cycle is that it can also help you reverse the decrease in libido that Nandrolone has suffered, as the latter is mostly inactivated by 5-alpha reductase, an enzyme that makes other hormones more androgenic.

Proviron is an antiaromatase. Therefore, obviously, antiestrogens would be useless and redundant. You may need medical supplies for those prone to arterial hypertension, since dihydrotestosterone can increase blood pressure.

Side effects of Proviron:
It is non-toxic to the liver in moderate dosages, making it safe to take during a course of several weeks. Does not suppress the hypothalamic-pituitary-testicular axis. Given the chemical nature and similarity to dihydrotestosterone, side effects such as prostate hypertrophy and male pattern baldness of the scalp are possible.
