of course!)
Wear loose collars as tight collars make it difficult for blood to flow through your thyroid gland. Drink plenty of milk, because it is an extract from many glands. Stay as long as possible in the fresh air and especially in the sun, do more physical exercises, remembering to breathe deeply and measuredly. Take a bath daily, and additionally go to the Turkish bath or steam room once a week. Wear breathable clothing, light hats and shoes.
Go to bed early and get up early. “He who goes to bed early and rises early, lives wisely, healthy and long.” Sleep in a completely darkened, quiet room with an open window. Sleep not less than six and not more than seven and a half hours a day. Stop drinking alcohol. Do not abuse tea and coffee. Avoid stuffy, damp, overheated rooms.
The older you get, the more toxins appear in the body. It's unavoidable. If this were prevented, the problem of aging would be eliminated. This can be overcome with a combination of the following:
Viparita-karani (see section "Hatha yoga") - do it for at least an hour both in the morning and in the evening.
Then, bandha-traya in the following order: jalandhara-bandha, uddiyana-ban-dha and mula-bandha.
If you add to this keval-kumbhaka, you can stop the process of aging and the approach of death.
THE SCIENCE OF RELAXATION
Life has become very complicated these days. The question of the struggle for existence is acute and painful. There is unhealthy competition in all spheres of life. There is unemployment everywhere. Only the smartest young people with outstanding qualifications and brilliant references are getting jobs today. Thus, due to an unhealthy lifestyle and a pernicious path of development, great physical and mental stress is piled on humanity.
Man has acquired many unnatural habits and has forgotten the habits given to him by nature. Many muscles and nerves of a person are overloaded due to incorrect posture. Man has forgotten the basic principles of relaxation. Now he needs to learn the basics of relaxation from cats, dogs and infants.
If you practice relaxation, you will eliminate the loss of energy. You will be active and energetic. During relaxation, muscles and nerves rest. Prana or energy accumulates in the body. The vast majority of those who are not familiar with this wonderful science of relaxation are simply wasting their energy, putting unnecessary stress on the muscles and nerves due to the fact that they make a lot of unnecessary movements. Some people swing their legs pointlessly while sitting in a chair. Some drum their fingers on the table in thought. Someone whistles. Someone shakes his head. Some people tap their fingers on their chest or stomach. Thus, due to ignorance of the elementary principles of the science of relaxation, energy is dispersed as a result of unnecessary movements of various parts of the body.
Fatigue is the result of excessive stress on certain parts of the body. It could be the brain if you're tense study or do mental work, or maybe the body, if you run around all day, because at the same time you burn nervous energy too. If something happens that causes a surge of your emotions, you react violently, and after that you soon feel tired. You need to relax and rest from time to time during the day, and not just at night.
The first sign that your brain is tired is the inability to focus on what you are doing, no matter how hard you try. The brain needs rest and relaxation. If you can then give the full measure of your attention to your work or game, it will only be more interesting for you. You will no longer feel tired.
In order to be healthy, you need to do physical exercises. But it is equally important to relax. You achieve complete relaxation in a dream. Restless sleep, as well as sleep filled with unpleasant dreams, does not allow you to fully relax. Despite getting enough sleep, the person then wakes up tired and exhausted.
You can maintain good health by alternating sleep and relaxation. Only then do the tissues of the body properly consume blood, absorb nutrients, grow, regenerate and get rid of toxins.
Remember that laziness and idleness have nothing to do with relaxation. Don't confuse laziness with relaxation. A lazy person is passive. He doesn't want to work. He is inert and drowsy, and a person who practices relaxation, on the contrary, is energetic, strong, hardy and cheerful. He never lets even a fraction of his energy go to waste. He works hard, quickly and efficiently.
When you feel sleepy, it means that your body needs to rest. Give the necessary rest to both the body and the brain at the same time. A few minutes of relaxation will wonderfully refresh you and restore your strength. You will be able to do your job effectively again. Learn to fall asleep when you need it, at any time.
You can relax even when you are awake and even work. Not all parts of the body work at the same time. While some tissues are working, you can let others rest. You must study well the science of relaxation.
The quality of relaxation depends on the mindset, on the mood of the person. One who is prone to excessive anxiety cannot properly relax. His sleep is always restless, filled dreams.
Relaxation comes as a result of discipline. Busy people like doctors and lawyers need to know the science of relaxation. They should practice relaxation every day. You can relax your mind and body in the waiting room at the station, on a park bench. Thus, they will always be in shape for further work in their courts or hospitals. Relaxation completely refreshes a person.
Yogis have studied this science well. They are in complete control of it. Those who master the art of relaxation can store and accumulate their physical and mental energy in order to use it effectively later. They never know fatigue. Even standing, they are able, having closed their eyes only for a few minutes, to gain strength for further work. When they relax, energy flows through their nerves like water flows through pipes. Those who do not have the ability to relax are wasting their physical and mental energy.
When you want your muscle to contract in order to perform some action, the impulse is transmitted from the brain through the nerves to the muscle. The energy, or prana, travels along the motor nerves, reaches the muscle, and causes it to contract. When it contracts, it sets in motion that joint, the part of the body that you want to set in motion. For example, you want to lift a chair. This desire creates an impulse in the brain. The brain transmits it via motor nerves to the muscles of the arms. The current of prana, or energy, passes through the nerves coming from the brain. The muscles contract and perform the actions necessary to lift the stool. All other actions, both conscious and unconscious, are carried out in a similar way. If the muscles are overworked, more energy is expended and you feel tired. Wear and tear occurs in the muscles due to overload, overstrain, because a large amount of prana or energy is expended.
Unconscious actions are produced instinctively or mechanically. Consciousness does not wait for instructions. If a scorpion stings your finger, you automatically pull your finger away immediately. There is no doubt or hesitation here. It is an instinctive, mechanical movement.
The action of one muscle group can be controlled by another. One impulse may try to set in motion one muscle group, but by sending another, overwhelming impulse through another muscle group, you counteract the first muscle group. For example, if someone hurts you, offends you, you can jump up to beat him. That is, the impulse already sets one muscle group in motion. You can control this impulse by analyzing and thinking, “I won't gain anything if I beat him. He is ignorant. He doesn't know how to behave. I'd rather forgive him." An overwhelming impulse will immediately stop the first muscle group. Impulses and counter-impulses, or restraining impulses, lead to increased tension in the nerves, muscles, and brain. Many people are impulse slaves, so they are not given peace of mind. They are thrown from side to side.
A woman who can never relax, truly rest, will not retain her beauty. Her face will show signs of her body's fatigue. Her body will lose the perfection of form. Being in constant nervous tension (and this is typical of many women), she will grow old early, lose her beauty and realize that her strength has disappeared somewhere.
The science of relaxation is an exact science. It is very easy to study it. Relaxing the muscles is just as important as contracting them. I pay special attention to the relaxation of the mind, the nerves and also the muscles.
Relaxation is of two types: mental and physical. There is another classification. If you relax only some muscles in some parts of the body, this is partial relaxation. If you relax the muscles of the whole body, this is complete relaxation.
If you can completely relax all the muscles, nerves and brain, you will immediately fall asleep soundly. Mahatma Gandhi knew this science very well. Napoleon also had great knowledge in this area. They could fall asleep at any time of the day or night and could wake up at the moment when they needed it.
Even at work, you can relax if you are familiar with this science. You can sleep for a few minutes sitting on a chair surrounded by people talking and
