Amagasaki (尼崎市 Amagasaki-shi) is the central city of Japan, located in Hyogo Prefecture. It was founded on April 1, 1916, and received central status on April 1, 2009.

Economy
In the 20th century, Amagasaki became a major industrial center. The city has developed ferrous metallurgy, electrical engineering, the production of vehicles, chemicals, cement and paper.
