Burd (Mong. Burd) is a somon of Uverkhangay aimag, the territory is 2.6 thousand sq. km, the population is 4.5 thousand people.
The center is the village of Ongon, 136 km from Arvaikheer and 295 km from Ulaanbaatar.

The climate is sharply continental. The average temperature in January: -23 degrees, July: +16 degrees, the annual rainfall is 300 mm. Stocks of graphite, coal, shale, marble. There are deer, wild boars, roe deer, wolves, foxes, corsacs.

Reserved places – Mount Bathaan, the sands of Mongol-Els, Lake Nogoon-Nuur. There is a school, a hospital, trade and cultural centers.
