In Australia, markets are open on weekends. Locals buy goods from farmers or at universal weekly fairs, while tourists are interested in themed markets. In Canberra, Kingston Quay sells Indian art at Old-strongus-Depot Markets. There are many characteristic things in Australia, and one of such goods is opals. There are Altman & Cherny jewelry stores in Melbourne and Sydney, and Opal Field Gems store-museum in Adelaide, which combines an exhibition of stones with historical panoramas and expositions of ethnographic collections.

Adelaide is home to R.M. Williams, considered an icon of Australian fashion style. Leather shoes, belts, hats, moleskin pants can only be bought here in Australia. The peculiarity of the brand is that each item is made by hand from a single piece of leather.

Real examples of authentic Australian culture are sold in souvenir shops, markets or in the villages of Kuranda and Tzhapukai. Alice Springs has an Aboriginal cultural center founded by the Arrente tribe. The local museum tells tourists about the life of the indigenous population and offers handmade souvenirs.

Adelaide has an arts and crafts exhibition, the Jam Factory. It is famous for handmade souvenirs made of ceramics, glass and metal. Designer furniture is made in her workshops. Visitors can not only watch the birth of masterpieces in the glass studio and pottery workshop, but also make handicrafts from glass and clay. Ready-made works of masters can be bought in a local shop.

Wineries

Australian wine has become one of the traditional souvenirs that tourists bring home. You can buy it in any of the wineries, to which tour operators offer themed tours. The most famous wine regions are the Barossa, Hunter and Margaret River valleys. Each has dozens of producers: from wine boutiques to factories. All produced varieties, and this is 10 thousand, are collected at the Australian Wine Center, located in Sydney. This is not just a store, but a wine museum. In it, connoisseurs will be offered tastings, after which they will want to make a purchase. Authentic souvenirs from Australia

Instead of the usual magnets / calendars / mugs, it is worth bringing a few typical Australian goods:

Aboriginal symbols. Boomerang hunting weapon painted in the national style. A didgeridoo trumpet made from the hollow trunk of a eucalyptus tree. Painted ostrich eggs.
