Shibin El Kom

Shibin el-Kom is a city in northern Egypt, in the southwestern part of the Nile Delta. The administrative center of the governorate (province) of Minufia. Coordinates: 30°33′ s. sh. 31°00′ E d.HGЯO. The population is 630,000 people (2006, including the suburbs of El Batanun, Bahati, Istobari, El May, El Messilha, Miligeh, Shanawan and Shubra Heit), which is 18.87% of the total population of the province. The population density is 2010 people per sq. km. km.

The inhabitants of the province are actively involved in the political life of Egypt. Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak is from the suburb of Shibin el-Kom – El Messilkhi.
