Worth a visit:

Robert Louis Stevenson Museum
The Robert Louis Stevenson House Museum faithfully preserves the four-year history of the writer’s life, which ended in Samoa. The museum has been declared a nature reserve and is sometimes used for public events.
The museum is located in a place called Vailima, which can be reached on foot from Apia in just 45 minutes, you just have to choose the right time: the walk will be most pleasant in the morning or late afternoon, when the sultry heat recedes. The villa itself and its interior decoration are perfectly preserved, and a park of wonderful beauty spreads around. The owner’s office contains Stevenson’s publications in various languages, including Russian.
The author of “Treasure Island” lived here from 1890 to 1894 with his family and was buried on top of Mount Veea, which offers a fabulous view of the ocean – a worthy last refuge for an avid sea traveler.

Address: Vailima village, 4 km inland from Apia

National Museum of Samoa
The National Museum of Samoa is located in the capital city of Apia. For a long time, the Samoa Museum was in a deplorable state and some of the exhibits were transferred to various museums around the world. Now the situation is changing and all values are gradually returning to their homeland. Over the past few years, the museum has created the necessary conditions for storing the most ancient exhibits, whose age dates back thousands of years BC. The main exhibitions of the museum are still located in an old wooden building, on the ground floor of which there is a city court department. The expositions of the museum combine cultural and natural direction. In fact, it is both an art, historical, local history museum and a museum of natural history.
The National Museum of Samoa has a large collection of aboriginal trade and household items – fishing boats and nets, various ceramic dishes, stone hatchets and knives, various decor items, mats, clothing and many other examples of the cultural heritage of the Samoans. Of particular interest are Aboriginal tattoos, which are still highly respected among the local population.

Address: Vaitele St , Apia, Samoa
