Museums

Worth a visit:

Belau National Museum
A small museum with exhibits from all eras of Palau’s history. Artwork, photographs, sculptures, sketches and much more are on display here. Moving from floor to floor and sequentially examining the exhibits of different halls, you will see how the history of the colonial seizure of the island went.
On the territory of the museum there is a remarkable building made of wood and reeds – bai, a public building of the aborigines. The walls of the building are covered with wood carvings and images illustrating the legends of Palau. Unfortunately, the original building burned to the ground in 1979, but the new building is a replica of it, made in the traditional manner from traditional materials.
