Russian citizens require a visa to enter the country. The interests of Kiribati in the Russian Federation are represented by the British Embassy, ​​so visas are issued on British terms.

Required documents for obtaining a visa:
Passport valid for at least 6 months from the end of the trip. The passport must have a free page for gluing a visa;
VAF5 questionnaire completed in English and signed by the applicant;
2 recent color photographs 3.5×4.5 cm. One of the photographs is attached to the VAF5 questionnaire with a stapler along the right edge so that the paper clip does not fall on the image;
documents confirming the availability of funds sufficient to finance the trip. Such documents include recent bank statements, copies of bank accounts, pay stubs, or documents stamped by the tax office, confirming financial well-being. Currency exchange certificates or cash cannot be proof of financial well-being. Direct evidence also does not include documents for movable and immovable property, however, the presence of copies of these documents significantly increases the chances of obtaining a visa;
certificate from the place of work (translation and certification are not required) on a form with all the coordinates of the enterprise, indicating the position and salary (preferably at least $ 700), signed by the director of the enterprise and chief accountant, certified by a seal.
Individual private entrepreneurs will need a photocopy of the certificate of registration of IP / PBYuL and registration with the tax authorities.
For non-working pensioners – a photocopy of a pension certificate, a certificate from the place of work of the person paying for the trip, or an extract from his bank account, a statement signed by this person that he pays the expenses of staying in Kiribati.
For students – a student card, a certificate from the place of study, a certificate from the place of work of the person paying the travel expenses, a statement signed by this person that he pays the expenses for his stay in Kiribati.
For schoolchildren – a certificate from the school, a certificate from the place of work of the person paying the travel expenses, a statement signed by this person that he pays the expenses for his stay in Kiribati;
old passport, if any available;
an invitation from the host, which should indicate the dates of the trip, the name of the hotel, all the participants in the trip are listed with their dates of birth and passport numbers, confirmation of the hotel reservation;
original and copy of round trip tickets.

A visitor visa is issued for a period of validity of 6 months or 1 year. The consular fee is paid in rubles directly upon submission of documents at the British Visa Application Center or at any branch of VTB 24 Bank (in this case, documents can be submitted no earlier than one day after payment). In case of refusal of a visa, the fee is not refundable. Consular fees may vary. To date, the consular fee for a visa is 44 pounds (2290 rubles).

The terms for issuing a visa to visit Kiribati range from 10 days to 3 weeks. Such a long period is explained by the fact that the request and verification of documents is carried out directly by the immigration service of the country.
