Wadi es-Sir (Arabic وادي السير‎, English The Valley of the Orchards) is a municipality approximately 12 kilometers (7 miles) northwest of the center of the Jordanian capital, in the suburbs of Amman.

Cities and regions
Bayadir Wadi Sir
Officially known as Wadi Sir City, it is a small, low-income town on the outskirts of the municipality that contains Ottoman buildings built here since the early 20th century. 10 kilometers from Wadi Sira are the ruins of the Qasr al-Abd castle, as well as Iraq al Amir, a historical cave.
Wadi Sir City contains a famous historic courthouse, an old fort, an area set on extremely steep hills that are shrouded in European narrow streets. The area is on the extreme outskirts of the city. The city’s name is an archaic Levantine compound noun, which roughly translates to “Garden Valley Barnyard”.

Svefieh
Svefieh — один из самых важных культурных районов столицы Амман, расположен в муниципалитете «Вади Сир». The area is home to entertainment, beating the country’s shopping industry.

Climate
The climate in the Garden Valley is fairly similar to the rest of the city, with 5 degree Celsius variations between some of its districts. Due to the rather high elevation of the valley, it is warm and pleasant and cold rainy winters with snow.
