Al-Mafraq (Arabic: المفرق‎) is a city in northwestern Jordan, the administrative center of the governorate of the same name.

Geographic location
The city is located in the western part of the governorate, near the border with Syria, at an altitude of 695 meters above sea level.
El Mafraq is located approximately 45 kilometers northeast of the country’s capital, Amman.

Transport
The international highway connecting Damascus and Riyadh passes through the city. There is also a railway station in the city.
The Jordanian Air Force base is located 3 kilometers east of El Mafraq. The nearest civil airport is located in the city of Az-Zarqa.
