How to get a visa to India

A visa is required for India. Documents for a visa are submitted to the Consulate of India or the Indian Visa Application Center.

India Visa Application Rules

You can submit a package of documents for a visa 5-7 days before departure
You can apply for a visa in person or through an authorized person (by proxy)
The application form can be filled out online and sent to the consulate of your choice, or you can save the document as a PDF and then print it, it is also possible to fill out the form directly at the Visa Application Center
The visa becomes valid from the date of issue
You can extend your Indian visa by contacting any police station in India and presenting a certificate of absence of HIV

India Tourist Visa Documents

Passport (valid for at least 6 months before the end date of the trip)
A questionnaire filled out in English in block letters, printed on separate pages and signed twice (under the photo and after the declaration)
Copy of the passport of the Russian Federation – pages with personal data and registration in the Russian Federation
Copy of the page with the photo from the passport
1 color photograph 35×40 mm, filled in according to ICAO requirements, which must be pasted into the application form
Booking confirmation from the hotel with details (fax with stamp or printout from the booking system website) or travel agency voucher
Round trip flights
For permission to visit neighboring countries of India – tickets for them and a description of the itinerary of the trip
Transit visa to India

To obtain a transit visa, you need to provide the same package of documents as for a tourist visa, only the “Transit” item should be checked in the application form. You must also present a visa to the next country. If it is not required, a hotel reservation and air tickets are sufficient.

India Transit Visa Validity: 15 days from the date of issue
Length of stay in India on a transit visa: 72 hours
The transit type of visas also includes TLF (Temporary Landing Facility) and TLP (Temporary Landing Permit) visas, which are issued at Goa airport. Instead of the TLF / TLP form, tourists give their passports. Those who received it are required to leave the country through the same Dambolim airport. The cost of a TLF/TLP transit visa is $40.

How to get a visa to India for a child

To travel to India, minors must provide:

birth certificate translated into English
if children are traveling accompanied by third parties, it is required power of attorney from one or two parents
