The city of Altai (Mong. Altai) is the capital of the Gobi-Altai aimag in western Mongolia. Formally located in Esonbulag somon (district). It should not be confused with the sum of the same name, also called Altai in the south of the aimag.
Population – 15800 people (2008).

Transport
The airport (LTI / ZMAT) has one unpaved lane and serves domestic scheduled flights to Arvaikheer and Ulaanbaatar.
