Nannim

Nannim (Korean: 랑림군, 狼林郡) is a county in the east of Chagang Province, North Korea. The county was formed in 1952 from parts of Changgang and Changjin counties as part of a general reorganization of local government. It was originally part of the province of Hamgyongnam-do, but in 1954 it was transferred to the province of Chagang-do.

Geography
The county is bordered by Hwapyeong, Kimjeongsuk and Gimhyeongjik counties to the north, Pujeong county of Hamgyeongnam-do to the east and Changjin to the south, and Janggan, Songgan and Yeongnim counties to the west.
The area is mountainous, with Nannimsan and Yeonghwasan running through the county. The highest point is Yonghwasan, 2355 meters above sea level. The low-lying areas of the county are approximately 1,000 meters above sea level.

The climate is cold, continental, with frosts beginning in mid-September and ending in mid-May.
Several highways pass through the county, and a railway line connects the county with the city of Kange in the west. The main local crop is potatoes, but corn, barley and wheat are also grown. The county is covered with forests.

Industry
In view of the many forest areas, the main industry in the county is logging. There are two working villages of lumberjacks. There are also other small industries.
