Visa type: Not required

Citizens of the Russian Federation do not need a visa to visit South Ossetia.

Citizens of the Russian Federation can enter the territory of South Ossetia and stay there for up to 90 days if they have one of the following documents:

– general foreign passport of a citizen of the Russian Federation;
– passport of a citizen of the Russian Federation;
– diplomatic passport;
– service passport;
– seafarer’s passport with a ship’s list or an extract from it;
– birth certificate (for children under the age of 14) indicating citizenship of the Russian Federation;
– certificate of entry (return) to the Russian Federation (only for return to the Russian Federation).
